After having built more than 2,000 cars in probably more than 50 different body & roof variants, we would like to introduce you to some unusual vehicles, development projects and studies – which the world has not or hardly ever seen before. More than 40 development orders for major OEMs in the 1990/2000s alone show the diversity and inventiveness of SGS. Many of our technical solutions, concepts and design developments became groundbreaking or even the benchmark in the automotive industry. Let us surprise you.
Even today, as a true coach builder, we still develop handmade special models as individual one-offs or exclusive small series for customers or OEMs from all over the world. Timeless design and aesthetics are combined with the highest quality craftsmanship, perfection in detail and constructed durability. High-Class engineering
As an engineer and master craftsman (in four different disciplines), it has always been important to me to develop high-quality and durable solutions from a technical and engineering perspective. The convertible tops, but also the gullwing doors & butterfly doors were very elaborate, yet at the same time very durable technical “marvels” – which also impressed our customers with their filigree soft top boxes/closing mechanisms … and still do. Many of our vehicles that we are now servicing or restoring have “hardly left any feathers” in the convertible top linkage and drive technology. Everything still fits damn well and tensions the soft top as it did almost on the first day. Even after over 40 years. This is SGS quality, which we call “Timeless High-Class Engineering”.

New Projects ... 202X
In addition to our “classics” such as gullwing & convertible conversions on an SEC basis as well as electric roof top retrofits for SL 107 Roadsters and existing restorations of SGS vehicles, we are currently working on new projects that sound very promising.
A 560 SEC Shooting Brake is already under construction and will be ready this fall 2025: The SGS Targa Gullwing is in the project planning phase, will be launched at the end of 2025 for 2026.
